James happily returned the kiss, nuzzling her nose slightly with his . . . >< he was whipped and he knew it!! Ah well, he could still have fun. . . But seeing that he was the New Head Boy (the badge rested on his chest next to his Quidditch Captain badge, his Quidditch badge being shinier than his Head boy Badge). He looked at Regulus as he spoke to him.
"Unfortunately, Potter, my mother is still very much breathing."
He sighed dramatically. “Unfortunately in deed. You should fix that you know. Just take a pillow or something and just smother her. More oxygen for the rest of us who won’t pollute it.” he said. He then looked at Sirius. “Morning, Mate. We were just discussing that lovely Harpy of a mother that tried to poison your brain at a tender age.” he said to him cheerfully. He then listened as Regulus and Lily began to talk. He did not like that idea at all. He tightened his hold on her slightly as she laid her head on his chest.
He nodded his head to Claire when she thanked him for allowing her to hex Reggie. He looked at Sirius as Regulus started to speak with him. He knew now Sirius viewed his family. He was curious to know if Regulus was jealous of him, for being closer to Sirius than he. Mmm . . . he’d have to watch that . . . while shoving it in his face, yes that sounded good.
" What's with the muggle analogies? So what's on the agenda for this year everyone?”
“Muggles are fun to make fun of, you’re not a muggle so don’t get offended, and no idea yet because we haven’t received out Schedule, which we probably won’t if we’re sitting at the Ravenclaw Table.” he pointed out.

Once he got past the fact that his best friends were conversing with his brother, the situation didn't seem all that strange. He stood back and watched as Regulus had a few heated words with Kingsley and then stepped aside to let him pass. He didn't want to hinder him from going back to his 'real' friends, though he wondered why the prat was near the ravenclaw table in the first place...and asking for help from one at that. It seemed he didn't know his hotheaded brother as well as he thought if he was openly conversing with those 'beneath' him. Or perhaps Clarissa's status was reason enough to give her a chance.
He scoffed at him as he drew near, though his grimace disappeared at his brother's words.
"It really is good to see that you're doing well, Sirius. I hope things stay well for you. Narcissa's waiting for me. I'll see you around, maybe."
Sirius had looked toward the ground as his brother spoke, but now he looked at him square in the face, dumbstruck, but not completely shocked. His relationship with his younger brother was one of mixed feelings. At times he hated him, at others he was indifferent. Now though he was confused. He captured Regulus' gaze and he could only frown though he did incline his head a bit to let him know he'd heard his words.
He watched him leave before turning back to Lily and James. "Well, now that's over..." he said letting his words drift. He looked toward Clarissa again and grinned a bit. It seemed like she and Regulus weren't on the best of terms, but he couldn't blame her. Regulus was hard to handle sometimes, especially when around his lot of demented friends.
He rounded James and Lily as they nuzzled into one another. He'd gotten used to seeing them this way, having endured it all summer, but a bit of jealousy still coursed through him. He was sure that feeling would never quite disappear. Not even after they were both married with children, old and gray.
He laughed at James' comment about muggles and he couldn't agree more. Though he didn't hate them, they did make for some excellent jokes. He'd come up with a few himself along with a few analogies as Lily put it.
"Well, I don't know about you guys, but I'm not looking forward to seeing my schedule this year. I heard NEWTS were a pain in the arse. Yep, not looking forward to them at all." He crossed his arms over his chest and bounced on the soles of his feet. James continued to cuddle Lily and he got increasingly more nauseated as he tried not to watch.
That had been him only two days ago. He sighed and tried not to think about it.
"Aw well. Might as well get it over with," he said getting aggravated and a bit turned on by the display. "I'll see you around Kingsley." With that he crossed over to the gryffindor table where schedules were already being given out.

Clarissa was glaring daggers at Regulus as he stalked away. If she could have hexed him right then without getting in trouble with the professors who were now making their rounds and distributing schedules, she would have hexed Regulus into the darkest pit of nowhere. She was beyond furious with the younger Black. She instead turned her attention to ripping a piece off the bagel in front of her and wishing that it was his head. And of course she saw the sneer of distaste from Narcissa.
And so instead of getting into potential trouble with the Slytherins, Clarissa turned her attention back to the friends beside her. Although of course, that would be the moment when Sirius was grinning at her. She smiled back and then turned to playfully gag at the sight of James and Lily wrapped in their almost constant lovey embrace. "Oh come off it guys. Keep the groping to a minimum in public. That's what empty classrooms and dark corners are for." Clarissa grinned mischievously as she teased Lily, hoping that James wouldn't take offense (as she still hadn't quite figured out how much the boy would joke - although she was pretty sure he could handle a bit, given his reputation).
As both boys commented about their schedules (or lack thereof), the Head of Ravenclaw stopped before Clarissa and handed her a piece of parchment with a quick wink before moving along down the table. When she glanced down at it, she knew why her professor had winked at her. It was LOADED. Clarissa groaned at the course load and nodded to Sirius' comment about NEWTs. "Oh boy. With this load, I'm really not looking forward to NEWTs."
Clarissa glanced up as Sirius made his departure and smiled back at him. "I'll be sure to run from you then, Sirius." She grinned mischievously before turning to glance back at Lily and James before rolling her eyes. "Okay you two. I would think you guys need to get your schedules before first classes. Besides, you're at my table, and I'll be more than happy to toss water on you both if you two don't get a move on." Clarissa laughed lightly as she stuffed her schedule into the bag sitting on the seat beside her.

"Well, I don't know about you guys, but I'm not looking forward to seeing my schedule this year. I heard NEWTS were a pain in the arse. Yep, not looking forward to them at all."
He blinked, looking at Sirius before smirking slightly at him. “That’s what they said about O.W.L.s mate . . . and if I recall, we practically slept through them.” he said with a grin. James wasn’t worried in the least bit about N.E.W.T.s. He was ready for them. The only thing he was worried about what splitting his time evenly between Quidditch, his friends and Lily . . . and who the first Quidditch match was going to be against.
"Oh come off it guys. Keep the groping to a minimum in public. That's what empty classrooms and dark corners are for."
He grinned at Clarissa, winking at her slightly. “No, we’re gonna have red hot sex right here on the table in front of the entire school.” he said to her, pulling Lily closer to him slightly. He then nodded his head as Sirius left for the Gryffindor table. He noticed his friend was a bit aggravated. He blinked, looking after him. He then remembered what had happened two nights again in his father’s parlor and sighed slightly. He nodded his head to Kingsley and grinned at her.
“I want to be a Ravenclaw!!” he said he said with a chuckle. He got up, setting Lily down and taking her hand as he dragged her over to the Gryffindor table to grab his schedule from McGonagall who reminded him that he had to set an example now that he was Head Boy. He rolled his eyes at her slightly before waving her off.

Had they have been alone a small giggle would've escaped her lips as she felt James nuzzle against her nose. A huge smile was still placed across her lips. So badly she wanted to say that she loved him but she was afraid of what the consequences of that reaction would be since they were in public. They had to get better on controlling themselves. They were now around other people again. People that were used to seeing Lily scream at him and saying how much she hated him! And professors. Professors that could take away house points for snogging in public...
“Unfortunately in deed. You should fix that you know. Just take a pillow or something and just smother her. More oxygen for the rest of us who won’t pollute it.”
Lily turned around in her posistion in his arms as she looked at James giving a sigh. " Baby. Calm down. Be careful with what you say alright? It's the first day. I'd rather not have you in detention tonight."
Her soft voice spoke to him as she brought one hand up to caress the side of his face. Once she was done with that she turned back around and snuggled back into his arms again, placing the back of her head against James' chest.
“Morning, Mate. We were just discussing that lovely Harpy of a mother that tried to poison your brain at a tender age.”
Lily heard James speak to Sirius as she held on the conversation with Regulus. Honestly she really didn't have a problem with the boy. But even though she didn't she still couldn't help but smile as he tightened his hold on her.
Grinning she let her hand squeeze his that was around her waist gently to let him know that she was perfectly fine. As Regulus left Lily smiled and said bye as she turned around to James playfully. " Now Mr. Potter, we're going to have to have a discussion about how protective you are of me. Or were you jealous that I was paying attention to someone else?" She laughed lightly and listened to his lyrical voice.
“Muggles are fun to make fun of, you’re not a muggle so don’t get offended, and no idea yet because we haven’t received out Schedule, which we probably won’t if we’re sitting at the Ravenclaw Table.”
"But I'm muggle-born. Need I go ask the Slytherin house to remind you?" She giggled lightly and listened to him talk some more. "I'm not really worried about NEWTS' this year. I just hope I get high scores. McGonagall might kill me if I get an E this year. " She sighed and heard Clarissa come back into conversation. "Oh come off it guys. Keep the groping to a minimum in public. That's what empty classrooms and dark corners are for."
"Oh please. This is keeping it to a minimum. However if you want a show.." Her voice drew out as she slid her hands down as if she was going to slip her hand down his pants then only grabbed his hands. "Just wait and see how bad you and Sirius are. " Lily teased in a whisper as she heard James. “No, we’re gonna have red hot sex right here on the table in front of the entire school.”
"Potter!"
Lils turned around and playfully hit him in the chest as she felt her face blush at the idea of that. No, she didn't want her first time to be in front of the whole school. Her whole body did feel warm though as she felt him pull her closer. “I want to be a Ravenclaw!!” The Head Girl shook her head laughing then suddenly felt herself being dragged to the Gryffindor table. She turned around smiling to Clarissa before she heard the Gryffindor Quidditch team from last year cheering as they saw that James was their Head Boy. Smiling Lily looked around and grabbed her and James' schedule and handed it to him. " Here love."

Benjy woke up a bit late that morning, figures first breakfast, and he forgot to set his alarm. He rolled out of bed, cursing silently under his breath, he gathered up his clothes and shut the curtains around his bed to change.
Emerging a minute later, he worked on buttoning up his shirt and dug around in his trunk for his house tie. Walking out the door, he tucked in his shirt, and fastened the button on his cloak heading to the common room, which was pretty empty.
The halls were empty too, but the dull roar grew louder and louder the closer he got to the Great Hall. When he entered the atmosphere was cheerful, instead of going to get something to eat, he wanted his schedule first, so Benjy got into line, and found his before grabbing a seat at Gryffindor table.
"Great...Potions with Slughorn first thing in the morning," he mumbled rubbing one of his eyes as he reached for a piece of toast.
He never got along with that teacher, Benjy thought he was a bit of an arse, and always favored the girls over the guy.
