Clarissa was glad that she had managed to escape from her parents on the other side of the barrier to Platform 9 3/4, because knowing her mother it would have taken hours to escape the tears and hugs and 'My baby's all grown up' comments. This was one time that she was glad of her parents being high in the magical government, given that her father had some foreign ambassador coming in for a conference about some suspicious actions that had been plaguing their country lately. So thankfully her parents had been forced to leave earlier than they probably would have otherwise. And knowing her mother, they had left MUCH sooner than they would have.
Ah, freedom! The grin spread across Clarissa's face almost instantly. Of course she couldn't be completely herself yet, she had learned the hard way that reporters and paparazzi loved to lurk everywhere just itching for a tabloid story of some celebrity or another doing something scandalous or completely out of character. And so for now Clarissa would pretend to be the perfect daughter of the Minister of Magic. At least until she returned to Hogwarts. Then she could be herself again. Get into arguments and trouble all she wanted.
Just the thought of the mischief that she was looking forward to back at Hogwarts made Clarissa wonder where her friends from school were, and if they had already made it to the Platform and Express. She glanced around checking to see if she saw any of them yet, but nothing. Giving a slight shrug, Clarissa merely moved out of the immediate entrance to the Platform. Wouldn't do for her to get run over by a cart just minutes after having separated from her parents. That would hardly make them more apt to releasing her from their watch. Getting bored with the relative quiet aside from the train noises and the chatter of a few first years' families, Clarissa began to absently whistle a tune that she had heard while shopping around London earlier this month.

She missed her brother already. It wasn't often that Hestia and Samuel were separated, and when they were, it was short-lived. For being nearly nineteen to her almost-seventeen, Sam was an amazing big brother to Tia. They were as close as a brother and sister could get, and for as long as she could remember, Sam looked out for her. It would be strange to not have him around, but she supposed she'd have to get used to it. He'd seen her off and then turned to disappear into the crowd, hands in his pockets. She knew that he was trying to give her space, but he wouldn't leave - not until he saw that she was off safely. She still had about fifteen minutes to board, though.
With a light sigh, the five-foot tall woman turned and started dragging her trunk out of the way of some passerby. She didn't want to stand in their way, and she didn't exactly want to catch sight of anyone she disliked, either. Her parents hadn't accompanied her this year. Her dad had to work, and as for her mum, well... Tia's suspicion was that she understood Sam's desire to see his sister safely off. Jeanne had always understood her children and their unique bond, and Tia loved her for it, along with many other reasons. A large wizard walked past her, and as Tia dodged him slightly, she tripped and fell down rather unceremoniously.
After muttering a few curses, standing and righting her trunk, the Ravenclaw darted out of direct sight, her pale cheeks flushed with embarrassment. It was then that she heard a light whistling, and, turning her head, Tia's bright blue gaze landed on her good friend from school, and the minister's daughter.
"Clarissa!" she said warmly, letting go on her trunk to lean forward and hug her friend happily. "Hey! It's great to see you! How have you been?"

Clarissa had been wandering around sort of aimlessly, although for some reason staying close to the entrance to the platform when she heard a familiar voice call her name. Generally she had become quite wary of people shouting out her name, but given that she recognized the voice, there was no harm in her turning with a bright smile on her face as she returned the hug from her friend. "Tia! Gosh, it's been forever! How are you doing?" Clarissa glanced around and when she didn't see Hestia's older brother, she raised an eyebrow. "No Samuel today? Such a shame too! I was hoping to get a kiss." As she said this, Clarissa couldn't keep the smirk from her face at the joke involving her friend's older brother.
Shrugging with the grin still on her face, Clarissa stood back and glanced around the platform again, just out of habit. When Hestia asked how she had been, Clarissa shrugged. "I've been good. Bored of matters of state. And if I never have to speak to another foreign diplomat, I will be more than happy. This summer was a parade of galas and meetings and all other such boring government things. Although I did meet this rather cute guy from Durmstrang. I bet you can guess how well Dad liked that one." Clarissa laughed as she said this, not keeping the government occasions from her retelling of the summer, as the vast majority of her friends knew how often she was pulled along to these things, and how she detested them. "What about you? Anything exciting this summer?"

Tia laughed lightly at Clarissa's words about her big brother. Sam was definitely a looker, according to the crazy bunch of females that chased after him. Oh, if only her big brother weren't so shy. They were opposites, she and Samuel, and she loved how much he blushed whenever a pretty girl was nearby. And it was no exception for whenever Tia brought Clarissa around. "Aw, you know he'd just turn beet red and blush like a girl if you ever kissed him." Hestia said with a smile. It had been forever, it seemed. But, then again, that was one of the drawbacks of being great friends with the Minister's daughter. She was quite busy. "I'm just great, clumsy as ever. Sammy's here, he just doesn't want to seem overbearing. He's probably lurking in the shadows somewhere, intent on seeing me off."
One of the witch's dark eyebrows quirked at Clarissa's mention of galas and foreign affairs. The tiny Ravenclaw gave a light shudder and crinkled her nose ever so slightly. "Ew," she managed a bit distastefully. "I don't see how you live with that. I would've gone off the deep end and ran naked through some fancy dinner party a long time ago." Whether she was serious or not, the wizarding world would never know. "Ooh, a Durmstrang boy? Was he sexy? Did he have an accent?" And there went the promiscuous streak in her, flaring up again. "I didn't do much of anything." Tia told her friend, pushing a stray lock of hair out of her pale face. "Just causing trouble for Mum and playing Quidditch with Sam. I did hear Lily got Head Girl, isn't it wonderful?"

Clarissa laughed at Tia's comments about her older brother. Yeah, it was true, Samuel would probably just blush a bright red if anyone tried to kiss him. But of course, that didn't really matter to Clarissa, as she loved teasing everyone, friends and their families included. So as far as she was concerned, Samuel was fair game. And given that once several years ago, Clarissa had actually thought she had a crush on Samuel, that made it even more cause for teasing.
At the mention of Samuel around the platform somewhere hiding, Clarissa playfully glanced around. "Ooh, lurking in the shadows. That's pretty hot, you know?" Clarissa winked as she joked with Tia. It had become a sort of joke between the two of them. Of course, sadly Clarissa was an only child, so she didn't have any brothers (older or younger) for people to joke with her about. But of course she never minded that.
At Tia's response to the galas and such, Clarissa nodded. "Yeah, that's exactly how I felt too. Although the running naked would probably have been a bit extreme. I think I'll just stick to either locking myself away in my room or running away to visit obscure relatives in remote locations." Clarissa grinned as she joked about this, although part of it was true. She had spent a few weeks in New Zealand with her rather eccentric uncle Jack.
At the quickfire of questions about the Durmstrang boy that she met, Clarissa smiled brightly. That was exactly what she had expected from Tia. "Yep, a Durmstrang boy. Apparently the MoM from Romania has a son at Durmstrang. He was trying to arrange a marriage to 'further our friendship and relations' as he said. I think he's a bit still in the dark ages. But yes, he was sexy, and he had an accent. Although not really my type. He was too dark and sinister for my tastes. While a good hint of danger is always fun, having it flat out smack you in the face is not. That's just a little creepy." Clarissa laughed as she said this. Even though Mikhail was cute, she wasn't one to believe in arranged marriages.
As Tia mentioned what she had been up to this summer, Clarissa smiled faintly. "Well that's still good, right? At least you got some practice for this year. I'm sure we're going to win the House Cup this time. If we don't, I think I'll personally kick Potter. And yeah, I heard about Lily getting Head Girl. That's great. Now we'll have another person on the inside for us." Clarissa grinned mischievously as she joked about using both her power and Lily's new powers to keep them out of trouble in all their antics.
