On behalf of the Impedimentum staff, thanks for joining/looking at our site. Hopefully you'll have an excellent time playing, and we will do everything we can to make this a good game. Now, onto the rules!
1. Respect all staff and members and their decisions. We are here to moderate, and keep the site a fun place to play at. Our decisions are for your benefits.
2. If a ruling is made, abide by it. This means no loopholes. If we make a temporary restriction on something like character gender, it's because we need to even out the population and such. This doesn't mean you can look for various ways to try and make the ruling in your favor - no, you're blatantly breaking the rules by doing that, not to mention being obnoxious because you can't get your way. If we catch any of this happening, action - whether it be banning or warnings - will be taken against you.
3. Be patient. We're sure you all have your own lives to deal with, so please, no nagging for posts and such from other players - especially the staff. Our staff has their own lives and things to attend to as well, in addition to different time zones, and if it takes a little while for something such as an application to be accepted or anything, don't worry. It will be done eventually, we won't forget you.
4. Feuds in RP are fine, but if you have personal feuds with another member, such as one that is carrying over from another site, keep them for PM, AIM etc. We don't care if Sandy stole your boyfriend in real life or she's a bitch, it doesn't involve the site.
5. Be aware of your language and content while posting. Cursing is allowed, assuming you don't abuse the lack of censorship. Also, if your thread has sexual content, please put {R} in the title to let people know.
6. All posts must follow a certain format. Posts must be in third person - that means using pronouns like he, she, etc. Speech should be in quotation marks. Thoughts can be either italicized or in single quotes, and any action that is not roleplay (for example, an OOC comment or note in your post) must be in any sort of parenthetical form. Examples are like ((this)) or [this].
7. Use the spell check. That's what that amazing little button is for. I know we all have typos, but certain obvious ones can be fixed.
8. Don't roleplay before you are accepted. Self-explanatory. Part one of password is aloho.
9. If you're going to join the site, roleplay. I will delete you if the majority of your posts are playing any of the games in the OOC boards. That's not the point of being here and it'd be spam, so don't do it, or do it somewhere else.
10. We encourage you to post at least one or two paragraphs during roleplay. A paragraph = 5+ sentences. Details are always good to read, and they enhance the atmosphere of your roleplay. Short posts of a sentence will be considered spam. We understand that writer's block happens, but if it seems like a permanent case and an excuse to short your posts, action will be taken against you.
11. No godmodding. If you don't know what that is, it means to take upon another characters actions or fate into your own hands, like "The man uttered the curse, and the boy could not resist and thus died." This is really not fun and there has never been a case where it is welcomed.
12. Spam of any kind is not allowed on the board. This means unnecessary posts in certain threads like plots and accepted applications, as well as posts that are less than a paragraph - unless they are in an authorized out-of-character area. But even then, do not post more than once in a row. There's a modify button, so use it effectively if anything.
13. Spam on the C-Box is not allowed. Do not flood the C-Box with unnecessary chatter that pertains to silly things and other sites. Flooding is when you post more than 5 times in a row. If you want to chat it up, do it on MSN or AIM, or even via PM.
14. Concerning graphics: avatars and signatures are required. Avatars can only be 100x100, maximum. On the note of signatures - if you can't make them, there's a graphics section on here and people who will be more than willing to make you one. If you don't know how to put them in your signature, then just ask anyone politely to help you. A simple picture of your character will be fine but if it is over 500x400 you will be asked to resize it.
15. One character per account. People are allowed more than one character as long as they are kept active. You are allowed up to four characters and these must be mixed genders. If you have 4, 2 must be females and 2 must be males. If you have 2, 1 a female and 1 a male. If you only intend on having 3, your third can be any gender.
16. Your character must have a celebrity/model. It doesn't matter if its a huge celebrity or one of your friends, as long as you have a picture. But if you are going to use a picture of someone you do not know personally, you must at least have the name of the person in order to use them as your model. Oh, and put a heart at the end of the "Other" section in your application to show us that you read all of the rules.
